Vacation Photos: The End!

Finally at the end of the vacation photos!  Only took me 3 weeks.  Of course, I haven't been spending that much time on the computer lately.  Our last full day of vacation was spent with the entire family.  Somewhat in waves.  Mr. No played in the hot pool (hot tub) with the kids.  The kids were all in love with the hot tub.  I don't even think most of the adults even used it but the kids were in there any chance they could get.  Mr. No loved that the water was warm regardless of the temperature outside.  The kids were awesome with him and they made sure he was safe while they played.

After they dried off, it was off on an adventure for Mr. No.  The kids and Uncle T were heading to have some fun on the go carts and bumper boats.  Mr. No had never been on either one before and we weren't sure how he would react.  The kids were going so he had to go, too.  I was so proud of how brave he was.  He's hesitant about a lot of things.  He had an amazing time and loved both!  He did get a little cranky at the end but he was overtired by that point.

The on to the bumper boats!  Mr. No could barely wait to get onto the bumper boats after how much fun he had in the go cart!  Cousins K & J went on the bumper boats with him.  I did freak out a little when Mr. No started reaching over the side trying to touch the water. I'll admit it but H was shooting the kids and didn't realize what he was doing.

Here's where he started to lean over the side.  See how far down the water is?  I think I was justified.
Mr. No had an amazing afternoon with the kids!  Then he passed out in the car and slept for the next 2 1/2 hours!  H napped with him while I enjoyed one last day on the beach.  That night Nana and Papa took everyone out for a family dinner.  Mr. No actually ate his dinner for once...fish (baked not fried), broccoli and rice.  He likes the healthy stuff! Then it was back to the house for one last hot pool dip for Mr. No on our last night.  Sad that it went by so quickly! We did actually get in a group photo the next morning right before we had to leave.  Some of us were less than thrilled about that but I think it made Nana and Papa happy.  Unfortunately it didn't come out clear at all but at least we have 1 picture all together!

Bye Cape! :(

Vacation Photos: Family Time

So glad to finally have power back! Irene was only a tropical storm here but did some damage in our area.  We only had 49 hours without electricity but I know others who still don't have their power back.  It wasn't too bad except for all the food that spoiled.  We had water in the tub and washing machine and had collected 2 big plastic trash can full of rainwater for flushing.  The super sunny and lovely day that followed Irene helped as well.  It's sad that I feel a little lost without the internet, though.  It's how I keep up with current events and keep in touch with pretty much everyone.  I feel connected again.  It's a sad reality.  I had projects to do but they either required a sewing machine or a drill so I dusted off an old book (Dracula!) but ended up falling asleep both nights with Mr. No who refused to sleep alone because it was too dark without his nightlight. I really don't blame him since we went from a city to a brightly lit complex to a very rural area and with no power, it is pitch black out and that's not something he's used to.

Anyhoo, I am almost at the end of our family vacation photos (YAY!).  These photos were from the afternoon after our ZooQuarium trip. Mr. No got to spend quality time with Nana, Papa, and his cousins.  I think this was his favorite day!

First was a little Mr. No-Papa time:

taken through the window so they wouldn't move

Then a little playground time with Nana, Daddy and Mama:

By the time we got back, the cousins had arrived.  Mr. No got them to play his new game pop-up pirate with him.

After dinner, the boys went out with their Dad and Mr. No got to play with sparklers! You can even almost see Uncle J in the background...

Only one more post full of vacation photos to come!

Vacation Photos: ZooQuarium

Still going through vacation photos!  I know I take way too many!  But with how terrible my memory is, I need something to remind me of what we've done and all the fun we have!

On Friday of our vacation, we decided to check out the ZooQuarium. Mr. No was super excited as always to see animals.  He was in kind of a weird sleepy mood so maybe it would have been better to go after a nap even though we went pretty early.  We got there just in time for an animal encounter show.  It was all about skunks and the employee even had a completely adorable baby skunk that she let everyone touch.  Mr. No was in super shy mode and refused.  I, however, was thrilled to pet the adorable little thing.  So soft and sweet!  After the show and a potty break, Mr. No got a little energy back and was ready to check out the animals. When we got to the fox pen, the little guy was hiding.  Mr. No shouted out helloooo??? And the fox came out said Hi to Mr. No and then promptly hid inside again. Mr. No thought it was awesome!  He shouted, Mama! He came when I called him!

wasn't expecting him to come out or how fast he headed back in

Mr. No loves the turtles...and there were so many!

always a favorite!

Of course, the touch tank was the favorite part of the day.  We could barely get him away from there.  There were only fish and crabs in there and guess who was too wussy to pick up a crab?  I'm embarrassed to admit...All 3 of us!  H finally picked one up on a stick so Mr. No could touch it.  We're pathetic I know...

Mr. No insisted I take a picture of this
I don't know who was more excited to feed the adorable deer...Mr. No or me!  Yes, I'm a terrible mommy and kept a couple quarters for myself so I could touch the sweet little deer.  We had plenty, I swear!

for some reason H always has to try and get a rise out of turkeys if he sees them and usually he succeeds

Poor Mr. No waited so patiently to play on the train.  Adults got in there for photos, kids pushed in there and he didn't fuss but once he got in there, he did not want to leave!  He was more than willing to share with a little 1 year old boy as always.

gotta have those gloves!

Before we left, we wanted to catch the bird show.  Mr. No got a little restless and crabby.  It was warm in there and he was so sleepy.  It was a very interesting show.  We learned about seagulls, a crow, a kestrel and a mostly blind hawk.  Mr. No liked the birds but he was just to sleepy to sit still.  He did take the last photo of the hawk and really enjoyed seeing the animals.

After the show, Mr. No spent time with Papa, Nana, his cousins and played with sparklers but that's all for the next installment so I don't overload the posts with my ridiculous number of photos!
