Kids Party Time (iphone photos)

We finally got to do something fun today!  I spent all of yesterday going through Mr. No's toys, sorting, cleaning and packing them.  So happy to get out today!  Mr. No, H and I met Auntie S and Noodle at Friendly's for a quick(ish) lunch.  Mr. No had to be forced to eat while Noodle happily finished her plate and then had ice cream.  H had Mr. No's ice cream because he just wasn't interested, as usual. After lunch, we headed up the street to Kid's Party Time in Worcester, MA.  A cute little play place in an old school building. The Nos had a blast together! I did not bring my camera...and really should have because I hate photos with my iphone, even with the silly edits that I did on them.

First stop was the bouncy house room.  (crappy phone)  The Nos had a blast jumping and sliding.

Then it was on to the dress-up room.  Noodle had a great time trying on different outfits...everything from a princess on a unicorn to spiderman.  Mr. No sat at the make-up mirror playing with necklaces.  He did put on Hulk gloves and mask and was really excited by the lion costume.  The Nos had a Stitch alien and ferocious Lion battle.  Not sure who won...  The adults got into the dress up room a little as well but to preserve what little bit of dignity we do have, I won't post them here (H, you can thank me any time).

H went around punching us, shouting "Hulk Smash!" Yeah, he's worse than the kids...
After dress-up time was over, we decided to check out upstairs.  They both loved the sand room which I have to say was a pretty neat idea though I'm glad I'm not the one who has to clean up after that!  Mr. No loved the little country store and both Nos had tons of fun in the safari room.

Mr. No spent quite a bit of time in the little house room.  He kept sitting in the little chairs and then pretending that the phone was ringing.  He'd get up all exasperated and say, Ugh, Mr. Jones is calling me...AGAIN! I'm really getting annoyed! He finally decided to bring the phone to the chair with him so Mr. Jones couldn't disturb his relaxation time any more. No idea where Mr. Jones came from.

After about 2 hours of playing it was time to go.  The Nos hugged goodbye and reluctantly put their shoes on.  As we were leaving, the kids each got a little prize.  Noodle got sunglasses and lip gloss and Mr. No got sunglasses and a slide whistle (so glad H didn't get a hold of it!!!).  He looked like a little rock star!  Super cute!  Mr. No had an amazing time and said he wants to go back.  For $7 for him and nothing for us, we'd definitely take him again. They pack a lot in there!

What could be any sweeter than Mr. No and Noodle just being good friends?

Another Day at the Park

H had the weekend off and of course it thunder stormed on Friday which dashed our plans to go to Free Fun Friday at Plimouth Plantation.  We spent the majority of the day at home.  Saturday, however, was gorgeous.  Of course we had to get Mr. No outside for some running time, so we decided to head to Owen Bell Park.  For once, we remembered to bring the outside toys!  We arrived at the park armed with Superhero Squad ball, frisbee and bubble stuff.  Mr. No and I ran around with the ball for a while then H took over for a bit. It was too windy for the frisbee though Mr. No did try his hardest to get it to H and the bubbles were all but forgotten.

The little pond there is always the biggest draw for Mr. No.  He soon forgot all about running around and went in search for wildlife.  We found 2 super cute little squirrels playing around a tree.  One was snacking on a pine cone.

While I was snagging a few photos of the squirrels, Mr. No called me over to the pond to see the fish he found. He was super excited and I soon saw why.  There were so many fish!

crazy amount of fish!
While searching for even more fish, Mr. No spotted a snail shell and then the hunt was on for more shells.  I don't think we've ever seen shells there before and now Mr. No was practically in the water!

Mr. No's shells
While trying to keep Mr. No from wading out into the water while H went off to buy himself a snack, I noticed the crazy amount of dragonflies around and huge dragonflies, too.  I tried to get a photo of one of the huge ones but they just wouldn't cooperate!  This gorgeous red one was in a model mood though and barely budged when I got super close to get his photo.

Of course Mr. No was still shell hunting, though he did get up close and personal with the dragonfly who fluttered away for a minute before returning to his perch.

H returned, not with the ice cream he had hoped for, but with fried dough instead.  He had the idea to give that to the two ducks who had wandered over and of course Mr. No wanted some to toss.  The ducks weren't interested...but the fish were!  They were practically fighting over it and splashing all over the place.

We did visit the playground for a few minutes but everything was too hot.  They really need canopies or something over playgrounds.  The equipment just gets too darn hot!

headed for the spiral slide

Then we piled into the car because Mr. No and I had a date with Nana before I had to shoot off to work.  A surprising and super fun day for Mr. No.  He certainly slept well that night!

Then and Now

I really wish the boy would sit still for 3 seconds now!  Things were so much easier when he was little.  I took photos of him when he was just 7 months old in my mom's hydrangeas and on 4th of July my mom and I thought it would be cute for him to pose for photos again.  Yeah, that was a disaster!  Once we coaxed him out of the bush, I barely clicked the button before he was moving on. Oh well, here are the then, 7 months old, and now, 3 years, 7months old, photos.

One last photo of my super cute pudgy little baby.  Can't believe 3 years have gone by so fast!

4th of July....Mama's Photos

Mr. No called up his Nana on Sunday to ask her when he could come visit her.  He loves his Nana and Papa and usually sees them every Saturday but Daddy had this weekend off. So Mr. No went with H (while Mama worked) to visit H's family instead because his sister was in town from Utah.  Apparently Mr. No missed his Nana-Papa time.  So it was decided that we'd send the afternoon of the 4th with them.  Mr. No was up at 7:30 and all set to go...too bad we weren't leaving for 4 more hours, poor little guy.  Then when we arrived, Nana and Papa were heading out to the supermarket.   Poor Mr. No nearly had a breakdown.  Papa had already set up the pool and, after lunch, he set the sprinkler up as well. Now Mr. No is usually iffy about water but lately he seems to be enjoying it more like he did when he was a baby.  He actually ran through the sprinkler!

And hopped right into the pool!  He brought his Kung Fu Panda guys in and had his watering can and teacup.

He got a little freshy and splashed water right in Papa's face.  So Papa started a game with him where he could only splash him when he was in the pool.  Mr. No thought that was fantastic!

Then it was finally time to dry off and have a little popsicle break.  Yummy fudgicle!

And for a little quiet play with Nana.  Now Nana had the good knights and their trusty steeds and Mr. No had the dragon, zebra and leopard.  I'm sure you can guess who won...the team of dragon, zebra and leopard, of course!

this is the disbelieving look we received when we told him the good guys were supposed to win
Nana and Papa had a little surprise for him....sparklers!  Of course the wind did not want to cooperate!  It was pretty still until Papa went to light one and then it would whip.  Crazy!  Mr. No had never seen fireworks before this year and never ever held a sparkler.  I was pretty impressed with how good he was with it!

his amazed face when he first saw the sparkler!

he got to hold the 2nd one

Still more fun was packed into this day!  Mr. No and H went on a bug hunt with the nets from Elefun.  They weren't successful in catching anything.  Mr. No came pretty close a few times!  He traveled around the house taking photos with my camera, had some tasty watermelon, enjoyed a yummy grilled dinner and then finally had to say goodbye.  Of course he passed out in the car on the way home!  There was a ton of fun packed into one afternoon!

You know I never miss an opportunity to take a few photos of my my mom's gorgeous flowers!

Hope everyone had a safe and fun filled 4th! Mr. No certainly did!
