“Black and White” Photo Challenge

Preschool will be the death of Mr. No, I swear.  Here's poor sick Mr. No with his watery eyes (from so much coughing) outside enjoying our one mild day this week.

Sweet Fresh

Braden, also known as Fresh, has not been getting his fair share of camera time lately.  So here's our sweet, handsome boy peeking over the sheets trying to decide if he's too lazy to get up and ask for a snuggle.

Pinterest is becoming my obsession...

Even though this is supposed to be all about Mr. No, I'm sidetracking today to discuss my obsession (addiction?) to Pinterest. I just can't get enough of it and will probably need a support group soon.  Seriously. It's just that now, instead of having 18,000 folders with 18,000,000 bookmarks saved in my browser, I have a happy little place to save all those interesting crafts, yummy dishes, photography tips, etc.  I'm currently using it for a real purpose! To find ideas to cover our pathetically bare walls in our newly rearranged rooms.  I hate bare walls!  They make me all sad and mopey.  I love photos and paintings and sketches.  Since we're sharing space, we're limited to expressing ourselves in our bedrooms and the play room.  Sad indeed.  So the walls will be crammed with us! Pinterest, here I come!

This is my first completed wall project from an idea found on Pinterest!  Wall Photo Collage from Bits Of Everything! And it was so simple! A little time consuming but simple. I did alter it a little. I used the black foam boards...did not get a before the work all began photo, though.

thin, light and easy to hang!

but I did not use the double sided tape to stick the photos down. I used my new best friend, instead to adhere them and to seal them.

I love Mod Podge!

The time consuming part was choosing (spent way too long choosing!) and then cutting the 48 photos to display from the stacks I had which, unfortunately, barely contained anything recent.

one of many stacks of 4x6s
Thankfully I had a paper cutter!  Yes some of the photos are not 4x4 squares.  A few didn't look right if I cut them that size (especially the one of my grandparents with baby No) so I cheated a little.  It's on display in my room for me so who cares, right?  Here is the finished product, my Mr. No filled wall collages (see it's still all about Mr. No)!

Now on to the next 3 projects for my room!  At least, they'll keep me off of Pinterest...until I search for ideas for Mr. No's room!

Mr. No has Hermit Crabs!

We are now a 4 cat, 1 crazy dog and 3 hermit crab house!  Mr. No has been dying for his own pet.  He really, really wants his own kitten but that isn't going to happen.  Mr. No got one of those plastic hermit crab toys and somehow he and H got it into their heads that it would be an awesome idea to get hermit crabs.  One more thing for me to take care of but at least they're fairly low maintenance so we got 3.  Apparently, hermit crabs do not like to actually be hermits and miserable without company.  Who names these things?  Our 3 are still getting acclimated to their new environment but are surprisingly friendly and gentle.  Since they are Mr. No's pets, he got to name them of course! So here are 2 of our 3 new buddies...

First is...Orange!  who was super friendly until he was ignored for a day by H while Mr. No was at Nana's and I was at work and now he's hiding in a crab shack all the time.  Boo!

Orange heading off to explore.

Second is...Crazy Man!  who was super shy but now is the friendliest one.  He'd rather but out of the habitat with us than in it.

Crazy Man loves to climb over puzzle pieces!

Last is the elusive Noah.  We got him a few days after the other 2.  He was visible for a day when we moved them all into a bigger habitat but has been buried in the sand ever since.  I will get his picture someday!

As for Mr. No, he switches between being super excited about them to not even caring that they exist.  typical 4 year old behavior.  I think they're pretty cool. H doesn't like them even though they were his idea. He's the hermit crab! He won't even hold one.  Mr. No and I will though.  Gladly!  Here's a little iphone proof :)

And I finally got my new computer!!!  Still setting things up but YAY to not having to share any more!

Flashback Friday: Mr. No's first Valentine's Day

Since we were busy cleaning and rearranging, I didn't get a chance to post these last week.  So here's baby Mr. No in his first Valentine's Day outfit...a week late.

Happy Valentine's Day!

Mr. No is having his first preschool Valentine's Day party!  Time to take down the wall of shamefully few Christmas card, since no one I know actually sends cards, and replace it with Valentines!  Since Mr. No's school has a no candy policy (which I find ridiculous for parties), I had to come up with another idea. So I scoured pinterest until, I found this idea  from Craft Monkey.  Soooo cute and I love it!  So here's our version of it minus the stuck on fake mustache that will be on the kids' cards.

Of course getting him to take a nice picture, even for a second, is near impossible.  Here are all the outtakes from our session for the perfect photo (or rather what was decent by the time I'd had enough).

So there's the crazy cuteness that is Mr. No!  He wishes everyone a Happy Valentine's Day!

Flashback Friday: Cry-Baby

Mr. No has had a rough day today.  He woke up with a sore throat and it wrecked him.  He spent more than half the day freaking out and crying, poor thing, until I convinced him of the wonders of applesauce, pastina and popsicles for sore throats.  All of this made me think of the his first real tears and, as the insane-must-take-photo-of-everthing mom that I am, I dug out the photos of his first tears (which were actually part of the first batch of photos I took with my very first dslr). Though that one single tear, which makes me think of Johnny Depp in Cry-Baby, will almost break your heart. Poor 4 month old Mr. No and poor 4 year old Mr. No!
